International students in Ireland are allowed to work while studying, subject to certain conditions.

DURING THE STUDY: Students from non-European Union (EU)/European Economic Area (EEA) countries are allowed to work up to 20 hours per week during term-time and full-time during vacations. Students from EU/EEA countries have unrestricted access to the labor market in Ireland and do not require a work permit to work while studying. Students who are enrolled in a full-time course that is at least one year in duration and is leading to a qualification recognized by the Irish Department of Education and Skills may also be eligible to work full-time for up to 40 hours per week during the summer months of June, July, and August, and from December 15th to January 15th inclusive.

POST-STUDY WORK PERMIT:- International students who have graduated from an Irish higher education institution with a recognized qualification may be eligible to apply for a post-study work permit, which allows them to remain in Ireland for a period of time after graduation to seek employment. The current policy is called the "Third Level Graduate Programme" and allows eligible graduates to work in Ireland for up to 24 months.

POST STUDY VISA PERMIT: The duration of the post-study work permit in Ireland depends on the level of education that the student has completed. As of 2021, the following are the durations of the post-study work permit:

Bachelor's degree or higher: 24 months

Master's degree by research: 24 months

Master's degree by coursework: 16 months

PhD: 36 months

EXTENSION OF PERMIT: It is possible to extend the post-study work permit, provided the student meets the eligibility criteria. However, the length of the extension may vary depending on the circumstances. Students should check with the Irish Naturalisation and Immigration Service (INIS) for the most up-to-date information on the post-study work permit and extension options.

PERMANENT RESIDENCY:  To apply for Permanent Residency (PR) in Ireland, there are certain conditions that must be met. These include:

(a) LENGTH OF RESIDENCY : The applicant must have legally resided in Ireland for at least 5 years prior to applying for PR.

(B) GOOD CHARACTER: The applicant must not have any criminal convictions or be deemed to be a threat to national security.

(C) FINANCIAL STABILITIES: The applicant must demonstrate that they have sufficient financial resources to support themselves and any dependents.

(D) CONTRIBUTION TO SOCIETY: The applicant must have made a positive contribution to Irish society, through employment, volunteering, or other means.

(E) LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY: The applicant must be proficient in English, which is the official language of Ireland.
